MATTHEW 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.
WHO WE ARE
The mission of Hands on Missions Brazil (HOMB) is to make it easier for people to encounter the great love of God, through the teachings of His Word (Bible) in other languages, especially English, no matter who they are or where they are on their spiritual journey .
The Hands on Missions Brazil (HOMB) ministry's mission is to make disciples and thus make them more similar to the Lord Jesus Christ, and they begin to use the gifts and ministries entrusted to them by the Creator to serve others.
Through Hands on Missions Brazil we express our love and gratitude to God through adoration, worship and obedience to the Bible, recognizing it as a fundamental guide of rule, faith and practice for our lives.
The vision for the Hands on Missions Brazil ministry comes from obedience to the gospel of Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit ; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
History
The Hands on Missions Brazil (HOMB) project began with a dream that brother Isaias Stroebel had of becoming an interpreter of foreign languages, and the Lord began to orchestrate the realization of this dream by bringing the first English school to the city of Itapevi where he became a teacher. And it was soon after that brother Isaias received an invitation from a pastor of a local Baptist Church to interpret for some American missionaries who would come to his Church to preach the gospel message in the community.
For a whole week, brother Isaias had the opportunity to minister as an interpreter alongside these devoted missionaries from Hands On Missions (HOM), thus fulfilling his dream of being an interpreter while at the same time the Lord placed a new vision, a new purpose in his life.
As soon as the Hands on Missions (HOM) missionaries returned to the United States, God clearly spoke to his heart something he should do for the Lord. It was when God led him to use a tool he already had, the English language, and then teach the Bible (Word of God) in that language. When sharing this vision with his friend and brother Marcos Roberto (Marquinhos) he readily embraced this vision to teach Bible study in English as he was also studying English at the time.
In mid-1999 they began a Bible study in English at Brother Isaias' residence, thus fulfilling and putting into practice the vision that God had placed in their hearts. Since then they continued in this ministry as teachers teaching the holy Word of God to many students and after a few years he expanded this ministry to the preparation of interpreters. Currently, HOMB already has some biblical study centers in some churches in the region.
